I recently downloaded the update for Lightroom 4.1 and I hadn't registered Lightroom yet. I now am presented with the problem that it won't let me register and my "trial days" are over even though I BOUGHT the program and I am unable to use it. I am a professional photographer and I use this program for everything. Please help!!! :(

Buying the program means you should have a serial number which you should enter to activate LR on your computer. What happens when you enter the serial number(s)?

After I enter the serial number, I'm brought to a registration page. After filling out all of the info, I am not given the option to press "next" so I press "finish" and when i open the program again, I'm asked for a serial number once again.

Registration is optional--it tells Adobe who you are so they can send you things and lets them remember your serial number so you can look it up, later. Finish is the correct button to be active, and Next is disabled because there is no further screen to go Next to. You should even be able to click Cancel from the registration screen. If you click Cancel or Finish are you allowed into LR or does the whole thing close immediately?

When you enter your serial number, do you see a green checkmark next to it, and when you are on the Registration page, is there a green checkmark next to the License item at the left? If so then you are licensed to use LR on that computer.

It sounds like LR isn't remembering that you're licensed each time. Perhaps it is a permissions issue or perhaps there is a problem with the license service. Are you an administrator on your computer?

There may be other posts here with more specific information, but I'd suggest you call Adobe with your activation issue and see what they say.

Or start with this page, and if it is during business hours, you may be lucky enough to have a chat window pop up:

If you see the two green checkmarks then your serial number is being recognized by LR's internal verification checks as valid, but for some reason it's not continuing to be recognized beyond that point. I always register before the trial expired and I would expect that shouldn't make any difference, but maybe there is something going on with your computer, that's confusing the process and LR doesn't think it's licensed at the end of the process.

There are support numbers you can call, and I would suggest you start on the page linked in my previous reply, and see if a chat window pops up. If not then you should be able to find a phone number after a few clicks.

It is my experience that the chat window is much more satisfying than a phone call, though. You're not on hold for many minutes and you're not struggling to understand a foreign accent. It is also easier to copy-and-paste information into a chat window than have to speak and verify your serial number to a phone representative.
