Epson 4900. Using 17" roll. Set size to 17"x5". Use Organizer to place 6 pictures in a 2x3 grid. Send to print preview, only shows 2 of the pictures in an 8.5x11.5 print region. Completely ignores specified sheet size.
To set up 2x3 grid, created custom layout for 17x5, but IT DOESN'T APPEAR in layout list unless it's smaller than 8x10! Specify 8x10 just to see it. Should center the layout (8x10) in the sheet (17x5) but should keep the sheet size. Doesn't.

What OS version?
And have you updated the driver from Epson's website?

XP sp3. Just installed drivers last week (new printer.)
As long as the layout is 8x10 or smaller, I can see it in the list of available layouts. But even though the sheet size was 17w x 5h, preview still had it in an 8x10.
update:
I restarted Organizer, and now at least it accepts the sheet size, but I still cannot use a correct layout. I wanted a single row of 6 2"x1" images, had to settle for two rows of 3. Minimum height on the roller is 5" anyway.

There must be some trick to how the sheet size is named, and how the layout is named? So that organizer will accept that the layout will fit in the sheet? But it wouldn't see a 17"x5" layout even when I made the sheet size 60cm X 90cm, which is MUCH bigger than 17"x5".

Did you install the drivers that came with the printer (which may be several months old), or install updated drivers from Epson's website?

And it sounds like there is some disconnect between what Elements gets from the printer driver and the page size you selected in the printer driver.

Having chosen which of the six I wanted to print large, I then set up a custom sheet size of 17"x30", individual print. Preview shows it truncated to about 25". What gives? Can't Elements 11 print a 30" long image?

Hi Chris,
Don't you hate it when someone writes "well, I was just SURE I installed the current drivers....". Wrong computer. On THIS one, I had 6.70, but current version on website is 6.73. You wouldn't think .03 would make the difference, but there it is, preview is showing my entire 17x30 image. Here goes....
Perfect.
Now I will re-address my original issue, trying to print 6 images across a 17x5 sheet. Stay tuned....

That happens, or someone doesn't read the instructions on how to install, pretty often.

The original issue remains. With sheet size set to 17x5, the layout I want does not show up in the list of available layouts in Organizer Prints dialog. Only if I reduce the sheet size in the layout file to (t show up. Nor does a 16x5. Something is very wrong in the Prints dialog, where it filters through the layouts to choose which ones to display.

Rats. I had a LONG reply and this blasted Reply box took the first several dozen characters and the last several dozen, and that's all. Apparently long replies are silently forbidden. But the jist is there.

Here's the offending layout:
I 17 5
test (6) 6x1
00.0 1 2 1
02.5 1 2 1
05.0 1 2 1
07.5 1 2 1
10.0 1 2 1
12.5 1 2 1
Change line 1 to "I 8 10" it shows up but obviously doesn't work right, and even working wrong, it's inconsistently so.

Has anyone found a solution to make custom layouts for sheet sizes larger that 8x10 in Organizer 11??? C'mon, there are dozens of models of wide format printers out there!
