Photoshop: Crash using "place" in my projects.

I use Photoshop CC (64bit) and have for months now with no issue, but lately I've noticed a bug that is making it impossible to complete my projects. Any time I try to "place" an image within my artboard, Photoshop crashed immediately. Has anyone else experienced this issue. I can't complete any work while this bug is affecting the program.

Are you on Mac or Win? (OS/version) Do you have all the updates installed? http://adobe.ly/PS-Up-To-Date

I am on a Windows PC running Windows 7. My laptop runs Windows 8, but this is my work computer running 7. I have not been able to test my laptop's "place" bug yet.

Currently, all my Adobe apps are up to date.

I've tried to place several different files into projects and some place successfully while others crash the program. Do you think that some files may be corrupt or have a virus?

Thanks for your input!

Is it certain types of files that crash, like PDF or EPS files?
And did you copy any plugins from a previous version of Photoshop?

Possibly. Is it a specific file type that's causing the crash? Does the crash log specify the faulting module?
