Can't open Bridge CS6

I've been redirected here from Jeffrey Tranberry's blog. I’ve just installed Photoshop CS6 (64bit). Adobe Bridge will not open – I’ve rebooted the pc, to no effect. When I go to File, Browse in Bridge, all I get is the ‘circle’ rotating for about 2 secs, then it stops and nothing happens. If I select Browse in Mini Bridge, the bottom panel opens and “Waiting for Bridge CS6...” appears with no further progress. I can't launch Bridge from Photoshop, nor can I open it independently outside of Photoshop. Any help please?

I am having the same exact problem.
I hoped that the most recent update I received would work, but nothing has changed.

Adobe. Are you going to come up with a fix for this? I'm tired of using View NX 2 to go through my RAW files instead of Bridge!

A little more information would be useful.

What OS version?

What exactly are you seeing when you try to launch Bridge?

Windows 7.
When I click it, I get the little circle for about 2 seconds, then it goes away. Nothing else.
I tried control clicking, with the same results.

I had task manager open while clicking on it, and it never shows up under the "applications" tab. Under the "processes" tab, when I click on it, it appears for about 2 to 10 seconds, then disappears. Shows 00 cpu, and 9,512K of memory being used.

I have the same problem. I was finally able to get it to work by creating a new user and it works fine with the new user. Evidently my original user was corrupted in some way that would not allow bridge to function.

Please kindly try:

1. Find the folder C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6
2. If you have import settings in Bridge, please back up this folder. Then delete all the stuff in this folder.
3. Launch Bridge again.

Please let us know whether this works.

OMG!!!! I have just installed the latest updates and Bridge now works!

I had previously created a new user account, which was a solution of sorts, but it meant that I would need to port all my files and folders across and I really didn't know where to start with that task, so I just kept the two users going - bit of a pain, but it worked.

Anyway, once I'd established that the updates meant that Bridge worked on my original user account, I've now deleted the second account (after backing up the few files that I wanted to keep) and everything is back to normal.

Thank you Adobe! I'm one very happy CS6 user now :)

@ Pete
That folder is already completely empty.

@ Theresa
Wish I had your luck... The updates didn't do anything for me. :(

I wasn't using a new user trick.
But there was ANOTHER update yesterday that came across, and now it is working.

Issue Resolved !

After using the Photoshop standard uninstall procedure followed by the Adobe CC cleaner* for CC and CS6, I did a reinstall of Photoshop CS6, but Bridge still did not open - although it took longer for the hour-glass to cut out.  Today I found a patch** to update Bridge and unzipped it and installed. Double clicked on Bridge and it opened immediately.  This worked for me, and is worth trying, but of course it may not work for everyone.  Best of luck - this has been an issue for some time, but only for a small minority of users.
