I created a 30 day free trial for Revel on my iPhone using my Facebook credentials. How do I connect to Revel using Facebook on Lightroom? I want to use my free trial.

Did you try to login to the Revel Publish service in Lightroom using you Facebook email and password?

Yes, didn't work. I was able to get a free trial by using my Adobe ID instead.

OK, thanks. I think you'll just have to use that Adobe ID until Lightroom can add the similar Facebook login access. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just downloaded the apps (iPhone and Mac) and want to start using the service. All my photos are in Lightroom 4.3 and I would like to use the Revel plugin to export my photos to Revel.

However, I am unable to authorize the plugin. I used my Facebook account to login on my Mac and iPhone but this is not possible in Lightroom.

Can you please advice what I should do?

Same issue, I see Revel in LR4 but it won't recognize my log in to Authorize!

I am trying to set up Revel in LR4. When it asks for my email and a password, I get the message "Invalid user credentials." I'm using my gmail account and the password for this account. Have also tried my adobe password, but neither works. Advice?

Hello,

I'm considering to buy a premium revel account, but I can't make the lightroom plugin works. It request an email + password but as I've create my account via Facebook, I didn't set any passport. I tried to use my Facebook email + password but it doesn't work.

I've search on the ipad and desktop app how to set a login (email + password) but I can't find anything...

To answer the general question here -- if you log in from Facebook or Google and your ID does not match a previously created Adobe ID, we'll need to do a password reset from our end to enable you to login to Adobe.

We'll need to get the ID (email address) that you used to login to the service from Facebook or Google. If you let us know you have this issue, we will respond privately, via email, to address it.

We are working to address this in a future release -- apologies for the inconvenience.

A pain in the arse, these are such basic issue, I would have thought they would be sorted before offering. I have Lou Gehrig's disease and it's bloody hard to spend all this time and energy. Take some lessons from Apple, but not their Map aApp :-)

I should note that you can reset your password directly by going to the following link:

The plugin won't authorise, using Adobe-ID
It says "Authorising..." forever

Plugin 5.0.0.1 / LR 5.4

I'm not using G or FB login, just Adobe ID. Any further thoughts?

Then it suggests that there is something blocking Lightroom's ability to properly connect to the web site. Make sure you have exceptions for Lightroom in your anti-virus and firewall.

I just inserted a firewall exception for Lightroom. Didn't do the job. What is supposed to happen when I authorise: does Lightroom attempt to open a browser window or popup? Flickr wouldn't connect until I enabled IE in Windows, made it my default browser and allowed popups. Should I think in that direction?

By the way, it seems to communicate something. When I type a wrong password LR tells me that the credentials are wrong. When I type the correct password, nothing happens.

That sounds more like Lightroom is getting through to the internet, but that it is not able to save the authorization file to the computer. Are you currently log in as an administrator? Have you tried running Lightroom in a new user account just to test?

I tried "run as admin", didn't work. Where is it supposed to write the authorisation file?

Does the LR Plugin require a Revel premium account to authorise? I read on some of the help pages that it requires a "subscription" but it didn't say "paid subscription" or "premium account".

Run as Admin does grant extra permissions to an action you are performing, it doesn't fix all permissions issues. A new user account has all default permissions. This can be especially helpful if you are using the built-in user account that comes with most Windows computers (often called "Owner" but varies based on whether Dell, HP, or some other manufacturer built your computer). This is not a normal account and has been heavily modified by the manufacturer. A new account, should get around issues caused by this kind of account.

You do have to have an account, but you don't have to have a paid account, a free one is fine.

This doesn't seem to work. I've tried a fresh user account, admin privileges, on two different computers. The problem persists in all situations. I increasingly have the feeling that this is a server side issue ...

I uninstalled and reinstalled Lr. It works now. Must 've been some setting, maybe from an older version, that interfered. Thanks Brett.

Now that it works, Revel rocks!

I use Revel to show my work to clients and to share snapshots with friends and family.

Revel is ideal and straightforward, without all the social networking bells and whistles that come with Flickr, G+ etc.

It's a good alternative for maintaining my own website and the interface is so much nicer than Dropbox or OneDrive. I use these only to exchange big files, no longer to showcase my work.

The "50-uploads-a-month" restriction used to be a real pain. The recent transition to "2GB at your disposal" has made Revel my number one publishing channel.

It would even be better if the Creative Cloud subscription came with bigger storage. Admittedly, 2GB accomodates between 1,500 and 2,000 photos at screen quality. More than enough for my day-to-day needs.
