Hi Leonard,

What is happening when you try to do this? There should be no problem copying unformated text between Photoshop, Word, Eudora, etc. What OS are you running? What kind of text? Could you post a screenshot?

Thanks,
David

if I try to copy a piece of text i.e. in this example a name I have written and then try to save that file as the text I have highlited it will not allow me to do so. Or copy a piece of text to (in my case Libre Office) it will not allow me to do so either,

Hi Leonard,

I didn't see your response until today; sorry!

There should be no problem copying this text via Control+C and then using that in the File > Save As dialog via Control+V. What happens when you try this?

If you'd like, I can set up a web-hosted screenshare so we can get to the bottom of this problem.

Thanks,
David

Sorry for not replying earlier David but have been in hospital for a little while.
It would seem the problem was my fault. I had turned off the export to clipboard in preferences - hence the reason I could not save.
Thanks for your help
Regards
Len

Photoshop cc 2015 on a new mac with OS X El Capitan. The problem is if I use Command C  to copy the text from a layer name and then try to paste that copied text into another layer name, the text that gets pasted is from whatever was last copied to my system clipboard, not from the Command C taken form the layer in Photoshop.  What's up?

Do you have any clipboard apps (e.g. "Notability") or utilities installed?

Did you double-click on the layer name itself to highlight it before using Cmd-C to copy? If you merely targeted the layer it won't copy the text. It's working here in El Capitan, so if it's not working for you, something else is wrong.

Just out of curiosity, why aren't you using Photoshop CC 2017?
