Got new iMac and Elements 13 refuses to validate serial number; old computer gone. Reinstalled and still NFG. About to toss Adobe and get something that works.
AND a place where customer service means something.

Have you called Adobe Customer Support about this?
A common mistake is using your redemption number (which has to be entered on the web site) instead of the actual serial number (which you got by entering the redemption number).

Call Customer Support????
After searching for an hour, I landed here (and I'd never find "here" again if I tried). NO clue where Adobe hides their tele numbers.

After over an hour "chatting" with support, they sent me a new serial number that validated.

"Seems that the older serial number was not compatible." ... with latest 10.10.4 Yosemite.

Problem solved.

Thanks for all the advice and help!!!
