Lightroom Classic: Can't Use Before/After with New Profiles

With version 7.3 and the addition of many new Profiles, a problem occurs when trying to use the Before/After function.  Say I apply successively 5 or 6 Profiles. Then I want to compare the most recently selected to the four or five Profile additions that preceded it.  Usually, you can click-and-drag a prior editing step into the "Before" pane.  But if I try to click-and-drag these previous Profile application-steps, they are "undraggable" from History into the "Before" pane.  You can click-and-drag until your fingers are tired, but you just cannot bring those prior edit steps in for comparison.  Before/After still works if you don't try to use Profiles, but if your prior steps are Profiles, Before/After does not function as it should.

It is working for me here on Lightroom Classic CC 7.3 on Mac 10.13.4. I can drag any history step into the Before window.

Here's what I tried:

Select raw file.
Apply 6 different raw profiles
Invoke Before/After view [Y] 
In History, click to select a previous history step containing a profile step.
Click/Hold/Drag to the Before window.

1/2 second later the Before window updates. 

Did I miss anything?

I wrote a reply via another link, but I don't see it here.  Forgive me if this a repetitive.
You didn't miss anything Rikk.  That is exactly what I am trying to do and Lightroom is letting me down.  I am a long, long time Lr user and know how it is supposed to work, but it is not working that way with the new Profiles. 
When I try to "Click/Hold/Drag (one of the previous 5 profiles in your example) to the Before window" the Before window does not change.  It will not accept the dragging of a previously selected profile into the Before window.  Simply put, noting happens when I try to.
FYI I am using a PC with 64-bit, Professional Windows 7 as my operating system.
Any further ideas?

In that case, Kurt, first stop is to reset your preference file. 

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom. 
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Are you able to drag history steps to Before now?
