Photoshop 2015.5.1: Can't select text anymore after updating

Anyone else having this issue? I'll create a line of text, apply a stroke, and suddenly the text cursor no longer acquires the line of text.  I can move it using the Move Tool or the arrow keys, but I can't select it or edit it as text anymore.

The first time it happened, I saved the file, closed and restarted PS and was able to reacquire the text and edit it.  But the error re-occurred, and since then this kludge hasn't worked again.

Flying an iMac 5K, currently running OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite).  I've been loathe to update my OS to current because of exactly this issue - software updates, both OS & CC, can introduce new bugs, and up until today, my CC install worked acceptably well with this OS.

Works for me here with Mac OS 10.11.6. Are you creating a text box (paragraph text) or a clicking once with the text tool (point text)? When you stroke the text, are you using a layer style? How thick is your stroke?

Hi Jeffrey!  Thanks for the reply.  I created two lines of text on a single layer using the Text Tool, added a 4-point layer style stroke, then a few minutes later went back to change color or revise the wording and couldn't select the text again using Text Tool.

FYI, this image contains a couple of other separate layers of short text phrases, and these have not been affected.  Also, after posting I deleted this problem layer completely and re-created it, and so far the bug hasn't re-surfaced.  So it's possible I inadvertently did something strange to that layer, but I have no idea what it could have been.  I'm fairly certain that I didn't somehow rasterize it unintentionally.

Hi Glenn, very strange. Keep an eye on it. If you can get reproducible steps or save a file that consistently reproduces the issue, let us know. If we can reproduce it, then we can fix it.

Howdy Glenn,

If it comes back, please let us know.  Heck, I'd be curious to see the document as a sample...!  But like Jeff, I tried and couldn't repro the problem either.  If you get steps, I'm all ears...

Thanks,
David

Thanks, David.  Over this past day or so, it hasn't re-occurred, and I'm cautiously hopeful it won't.
I appreciate your and Jeffrey's quick support on this.
