Photoshop CS5: Cannot invert in actions

I have purchased several bundles of actions from a couple of companies and some of their actions require "invert" as part of the action. My CS5 will not allow invert and gives me the error "invert command is not currently available". Obviously the action cannot be run correctly without the invert command. I have Windows 7 and am running CS5 64 bit extended. I have tried unlocking the background photo, I have also tried to make a working copy of the photo, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it doesn't refer to inverting a selection (which is different from the invert adjustment) ?

And have you installed all the updates for Photoshop?

When I play a chosen action with an invert command as part of the action I get the error that "invert command is not currently available" I then have the choice to skip that portion of the action or stop the action completely. If I skip that portion of the action, I end up with a dark, overly contrasted photo more times than not...I believe the invert would correct that in the action. Some of the actions use invert as part of the action command more than once, which makes it unsable because the invert does not work. Does that make more sense???
Thanks!

That just repeated what you already said, and you didn't answer my questions.

Sorry for the repeat. I'll check for updates. The action, when run has - make adjustment layer and below that - invert. Hopefully that gives you the information you are requesting.

Hi Kelly,

without access to the action it's hard for us to try and help debug. I'd try working with the vendor you purchased your actions from.
