Elements 12: Cannot delete Albums from Organizer

I'm new to the Photoshop world. I've recently loaded Photoshop Elements 12 on my iMAC. I decided to import all my photos and files from iPhoto into the Photoshop Organizer. I have since tried to delete some of these albums from my 'Local Albums' drop down and cannot. I have tried to right-clicking and I do not get an option to 'Delete'. In fact, there are no options shown when I right click. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Hi Noel/Cliff,
Can you please upload a snapshot showing context menu options (on right click) of an album?

Hi Surendra,

Hope screen shot was of some help.

When you right click on album it brings photos to right, double merely allows you to change photo name , but not album name.

Click 'file' at top of screen does not allow you co change name or delete, both
options 'greyed out' - not available, same with edit again at top of screen.

By clicking green + button on top right of left hand screen , it merely allows you to
create or add a new album , but not delete or re-name album

Kind Regards,

Noel.

Hi Surendra,

Thank you for your reply and your patience, above are screen shots which I hope help. Dialog box you have shown on your screen shot does not appear when I go to edit albums.

I also notice that just at top of Elements organizer screen you have a tab for 'alive' this does not appear on mine as you can see. Nor does screen on extreme right , which only appears when I export photos to photo's elements for editing photo's

It will not doubt be something silly I am doing wrong , but at this stage I have no hair left.

Thanks again for your reply , and really do appreciate your help

Hi Noel,
I'm taking the liberty to answer your question waiting for Surendra's answer.
The way to make the contextual menu with the delete option is not from any of the menus on the top: Find, Edit, etc.
You call this contextual menu with the 'Right Click' on Windows or the equivalent shortcut in your Mac.
The eLive tab is not present in all language versions (it's not in my French one).
To make the right part of the screen appear, click on the last icon on the right of the bottom task bar : tags/Info.

Hi Michel,

I have tried equivalent of right click on my Mac , but no contextual menu appears.

I am no sure if its a mac issue , because , I am not only 'Mac user' to have exactly the same issue.

Again on my screen there is nothing to the right of bottom of task bar : tags\Info.

Really appreciate your help Michel, thank you for reply

Your own screenshot clearly shows that tags/info icon?
For the Mac equivalent of the right click, I can't help, but it should work if you do it while your chosen album is highlighted.

Apologies for ambiguity.
@Noel: The snapshot that I attached was from PSE13 Organizer which has an additional tab (eLive) as compared to PSE12.

@Michel: Yes, you are correct. eLive is an EN only feature in PSE13.

Noel,
Thanks again for snapshots bug as Michel suggested, the option to edit/rename/delete an album are available only in context menu (right click) of album and not in any menu.

"I have tried equivalent of right click on my Mac , but no contextual menu appears. "
- What 'equivalent' are you trying?
- Is the context menu appearing outside PSE? I mean, are you able to see context menu options for folders on your desktop?
- Try 'pressing 'control' key + mouse click' and see if that brings context menu back.

"Again on my screen there is nothing to the right of bottom of task bar : tags\Info."
Not sure what you mean by it because your snapshots shows tags/info buttons on action panel.

Hi Surendra,

Ah Sorted at long last Control key + mouse click brings up context menu.

Normally right click on Mac works exactly as it would in windows, well in any other
software that I have installed it has, hence confusion

Thanks for your help

Kind Regards,

Noel.
