Lightroom CC: Cannot view folders properly

Why is the left-hand column pane fixed in size? Why is it not possible to stretch it to the right to accommodate display of more information? Right now, subfolders cannot be seen because they are nested and disappear from the display. Likewise, longer album names also cannot be fully seen. This is a strange limitation that handicaps properly viewing a larger collection of folders and albums. I had to spend hours to shorten all the names. This really needs addressing as soon as possible.

Another annoyance is that if I click the I-symbol (info) for a photo, the left column pane containing the albums gets closed automatically. Why can't I have it left open when viewing photo details? Maybe I want to be able to drag the photo to an album.

You can. Go to Preferences > Interface tab and set the panels to Manual instead of Automatic, then you can open/close each side independently.

Ok, thanks. I'd never have thought to look there for something called "panel tracks". I guess I was expecting something like a pin icon to click and lock a pane, as found in other apps.

I do agree it's a bit well hidden!
