Photoshop CS6: Cannot use all of the sudden

I have used cs6 for the last two years with no issues on my
laptop.  As of two days ago, the programs
have been acting up.  Photoshop will
open, but will not let you click on any of the buttons and will also not let me
drag a file in to open it.  Same with Illustrator,
InDesign, etc.  Also, you cannot close
the program; I have to open my task manager and manually kill it :(

I got the download free through my college, so I am not sure
if there is an expiration or not.  I
haven’t got any warning or error messages.

I have searched the forms and tried a few troubleshooting
tips... I’ve tried opening as admin.  I’ve
tried hitting shift while opening to skip loading plug ins.  I’ve tried hitting shift+ctrl+alt while
opening to clear the memory/settings.
Nothing has helped.  And yes, I turned my computer off and on a few times!

I tried to open the adobe help program that is part of cs6,
but when I click on it nothing happens.
I called customer support and was told cs6 is an old program and they
will not help me over the phone.  They
told me to go ask the forums... so here I am.

I’m trying to work on a school project from home this summer
and am at a loss.  I need help quick.

Hi Jessica, I don't see any registered products under your account. When you say you got the software 'free' from your school, were you provided a serial #? Did you run an installer to install them?

Howdy Jessica,

Have you recently added another piece of software to your machine?  How about a font?  Either of those could have messed things up.  In the case of a font, your system font or Adobe font cache could be corrupt -- here are steps to check that:

If you're having trouble with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc, then you might have messed up your installation.  If that's the case, then you're probably going to need to uninstall what you have and reinstall.

Hope that helps,
