Photoshop CC 2017: Cannot print new documents in black and white

I just today created and tried to print a document that was black and white only. Normally I just selected B/W in my print dialogue box when printing and the print generated was speedy and in just black ink.

The new Adobe PS CC 2017 documents will NOT print in black only (even when B/W is selected) and instead print painfully slowly using all my colored inks! I know it has to be something connected with the new PS CC 2017 new file type, as I have opened older documents (PS CC 2015) and they printed just fine in B/W and very quickly as per normal.

Please advise! Happy to provide any other info needed. Thank you. Very frustrated.

Even though I do not have your exact printer, I do think that your problem is that you're looking for the solution in the wrong place. Just go to the print dialog and choose the "print settings" button, which will take you to the details about how the printer and its driver will act to produce your print. In my R2880 interface, there is a dropdown list titled "color," where you can choose "Advanced Black and White." That should get you close - and there also should be settings about the dpi settings for printing, which does determine the speed of the printing process. Good luck!

Thanks Richard. The print dialogue box doesn't have an "advance black and white" choice. Again, older files print just fine in black ink only and are identical in every way, other than the fact that they are PS CC 2015 files. I've never had to choose anything other than B/W in my print dialogue window. I've tried every combination with the new files and they will not print in B/W but instead use my colored inks to create a grayscale look. At this point I'd love to just revert back to PS CC 2015.

If you hold down the spacebar while selecting Help > Print... does it print as you expect?
