Cannot Print from Photoshop (Print & Print One Copy are both greyed out).

I can not print any file from Photoshop for the past day. I get this error message: "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." My Print and Print One Copy options in the File menu are greyed out.

Tried printing PSD, TIF, PNG, all set up as 8 bit. I'm using a Mac and am running the latest version of Adobe CC, 19.1.5. I have a default printer set up in my System Prefs. I tried resetting my prefs in Photoshop.

Any thoughts?

Printers and their lack of cooperation are beyond me, but I suggest you post your printer model and if you have kept up with OS updates (that's where us Mac-ers get our driver updates). It is possible this is a driver issue, but again, I'm no expert on this.  Someone here no doubt is.
One last thing to try on your own if you're up to it and don't want to wait for better help, and since you did reset prefs, would be uninstalling/reinstalling PS just in case something went wrong with the install and it mangled or missed a file that connects PS to your printer. Sometimes installs don't go as well as we'd like them to.  '-}

Thanks for your notes.

My default printer is actually a Ricoh photocopier (MC C2004) so it's worse! I also print to an HP laser but since I can't even get to the Print window, it doesn't matter.

I am using OS 10.12.6. Just uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem persists.

<sigh> That's no fun. Hopefully this will get Adobe's attention. Between you and Kukurykus, this could be a bug unearthed.

It happened to me first time ever, just two days ago after updating to 19.1.5 v. So it might be shortly common problem. That I did was setting maximum preset sizing in inner printing settings. The only I could do to free myself of that message was to after closing Photoshop:

Pressing to hold till complete Ps launch ctrl alt shift. You must keep holding them even when you are prompted to confirm settings reset to default.

That message you posted is wired. How can we do that it asks us if we can't open printing panel. Probably somehow from system, but how when all is set correctly. Only Photoshop deosn't see that, so that must be some new bug.

There's no latest update. It happened both for you na me in the latest version ie. CC 19.1.5. So I guess there must be other reason it works for you now.

Btw did you try solution I found and described in previous post. I had the same problem but found solution I shared with you. Did you even try that?

You mentioned only of resetting your preferences. What about settings I did?
