Photoshop: Cannot Paste Vectors Onto Layers or Existing Vector Masks

My vector workflow in PS for a long time has included copy/paste of vectors. Now that is suddenly gone and I can't find any equivalent feature.

Specifically, I need to be able to copy a shape or path into my clipboard and then PASTE it either:

A) onto a raster layer, resulting in a new vector mask,

B) onto an existing vector mask, resulting in combined shapes on the mask,

or

C) onto another shape or path, in order to combine the shapes.

It seems it is now impossible to paste a vector as a vector mask. It is only possible by OPTION-dragging the shape onto a raster layer. But the only way to combine two shapes is with COMMAND+E. And there is no way at all to add additional paths to an existing vector mask.

Please restore this functionality ASAP. I don't see any reason it would have changed; there is no replacement workflow.

hold down cmd+alt+shift and drag the layer with the activated vector shape onto the layer you want to have that vector mask.

I wasn't aware of this key combo, however it still does not help my issue. There is no way to ADD ADDITIONAL shapes to an existing mask. Previously, I could paste shapes as a vector mask, and continue to paste additional shapes onto the mask.
