Cannot Open Bridge CC in OS X Yosemite

When I try to open Bridge by clicking on the app in Applications, nothing happens. When I try to use Spotlight, I get an error message "You can’t open the application “Adobe Bridge CC.app” because it is not responding." I have Bridge CS4 still installed on my MacBook Pro, running OS X Yosemite.

It was all working up until yesterday. In reading some of the other problems on this site, I noticed other people were having problems with getting Bridge to launch Photoshop when using the "Batch", "Layering..." or other commands from Bridge. I did not have this problem on this machine , but do on my iMac. Software is all the same (same subscription). The work around I found on my iMac was to have Photoshop open first, then everything worked. Bridge just does not want to launch Photoshop.

However, this problem of not opening Bridge first. I am in the middle of a shoot and need help quick.

Also, I cannot seem to remove the Bridge icon from the dock, even when I had uninstalled Bridge CC. ( I did try to reinstall to fix things, but nothing...)

And yes, I tried force quitting the dock icon...no go.
