Tried to open a GIF file that was exported from Photoshop CC, but got "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." message. Tried Re-Install Photoshop CC, still got same problem.

The most likely cause is that the file is some other file format and incorrectly has the .GIF extension on it.

Can you post the file somewhere for us to examine?

file is saved here

I used "Export As" function in Photoshop CC to save this file as a GIF format file.

I uninstalled and reintalled the Photoshop CC right before I post my question. It did not work. Should I reinstall it AGAIN???

That's weird. Reinstalling should install all the plugins. Some something odd is happening on your system to mess up the installation of the plugins...

Ok, just reinstalled the software again. Still not working. Can I install the missing plug-ins manually/separately?

No, it comes with the entire application installer. I have no idea how it could fail to install (especially after an uninstall) without giving error messages.

Hi Chris, our IT company helped me installed a plug-in https://www.adobe.com/support/downloa... and solved the problem of me not able to open PNG/GIF files. However, I noticed another problem with my Photoshop CC, my "Export As" pop-up window showed less options than the screen shots I've seen online. Also my "Save for Web (Legacy)" is grey out. I remember you mentioned that "I am missing a couple of the required plugins", can you please tell me what other plug-ins that I am missing?? Need your help!
