Cannot move images to samba network drive in Lightroom

I have a problem moving image folders in Lightroom to a network drive (Mac->Samba).

When I try to move the image folder from a local harddrive to a mapped network drive for long term archive LR creates the destination folder, but then always instantly "creates and deletes" the moved photo files. In the end no files exist in the destination folder and LR fails the move.
When I move the images to "external HDD" it works, well in LR. Moving the image folder to the network drive using Finder works as well (so it is not an access right issue on the network drive). However I need to move the files in LR to keep the photos linked to the catalog.

What can be the cause of the problem?

My setup is:
- workstation with Lightroom CC2015 on Mac OSX
- network share with archive is Samba 4 on linux server.

Do you have the 2015.1.1 updates installed?

Based on general observations from customers, Apple's samba support on Mac OS X isn't as reliable as AFP. Have you tried a network drive using AFP?

Thanks, AFP works well (I just wanted to avoid setting up another share server :-)), but this is a good solution.
