Annoying bug, cannot work like that!! Have to create tons of groups with new masks for percect mask. Very time-consuming, not productive at all...

1. Create layer-mask
2. work on mask (not being able to see the mask when clicking "alt + mask" actually!) - I did NOT lock anything...
3. create new layer
4. cannot re-edit mask

How frustrating and annoying is that?!

This is the second bug for today already, how to work with tight deadlines??

Please, fix the bugs asap! Thanks.

This  makes no sense at all - i've been working with and teaching photoshop for 20 years and I have absolutely no clue what your problem is :-)

- you need to supply more information
what has alt-clicking has to do with this problem ?
what do you mean : re-edit? do you mean selecting the mask and painting on it again?
What exactly do you do?
Pls clarify !

also :
system / os ?
photoshop version ?
8/16 bit ?
doc profile ?

kind regards

Does not matter anymore. Somehow it works again, seems there was a ghost.

All that stuff you are asking, apart from System/PS Version absolutely makes no sense, has nothing to do with my problem...

... and by the way, just because I am young it does not mean I have no clue. I am a teacher myself and use PS since more than 12 years. Apart from that the time-frame does not say anything about the knowledge. Thanks anyway and take care!

Which specific version of Photoshop are you using?
Which OS version are you using?

And yes, you really need to provide more details so we can try to reproduce the issue you are seeing.

I would like to add that I recently encountered this intermittent problem in Photoshop CS6 on Windows 10-64.  On one occasion I seemed to be able to solve the problem by exiting Photoshop and relaunching it and the file I was editing, but I have now encountered another file where the problem persists beyond exiting and and relaunching Photoshop with that same file. It will no longer let me select any Layer mask on any of the several layers in this file.  I have not yet determined the minimum number of actions that can reproduce this.
