Cannot backup Lightroom Catalog - LR CC 2015.8

Hi
Since the last update of LR 2015.8, I cannot backup the Lightroom catalog to any destination directory (local drive or Network share in an Win10 environment). LR say's that it has no access rights to the specific destination directory or not enought space on it. Both is not true in my environment. 350GB empty space and full admin rights on the drive. I use this configuration since 18 months without any problems.
I know, backing up is something for cowards, but I'd like to have my backup back :-)

This is a know bug and has been reported here several times now. Adobe is working on a fix already.

Workaround with side effects

I have encountered the same problem with LR 6.8 and found a workaround:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/unable-to-back-up-catalog.html
which means copying a file config.lua into the Lightroom AppData folder.

This solved the problem and catalogues with double byte characters could be processed.
Unfortunately this workaround had a severe side effect:
for larger catalogues the backup times become extremely long

Example:
lrcat  201 MB on SSD
zipped  17,8 MB on network share
backup time 19 minutes
The available resources (Intel i7-7700, 32 GB Ram, 512 SSD, 1 Gbit/s Ethernet cable) were by far not utilized, Task Manager shows for LR:
CPU 0,1-0,2 %  total 2%
MEM 864 MB   total 11%
Disk 0 MB/s   total 0%
Net 0,1 MB/s  total 0%

After deleting config.lua the backup takes less than 1 minute.
So I have renamed my catalogues and avoid double byte characters
