Lightroom Classic: Cannot adjust saturation on any HSL using "drag on image" handle when in reference view

In a previous version I could use the "drag on image" handle under HSL when making adjustments when using the reference view. It no longer works. The handle now seems to only work outside of a reference view. Also, I can confirm I have checked that I am trying to adjust HSL inside of the Active view within Reference editing.

I can confirm this behavior/bug.   I can't use the "Targeted Adjustment Tool" in Reference View either.  The TAT tool in Tone Curve works ok

It's working for me, Mac OS 10.13.6.  Have you tried resetting your preferences? Close Lightroom, hold down Alt/Opt-Shift as you launch Lightroom and choose to Reset. (This does set all preferences and tool settings back to their defaults, so you'll have to change back any you want set differently.)

Hi Laura

I reset the preferences and the TAT tool started working.  Strangely, I had saved the preference file BEFORE the reset and then copied the backup preference file over the new one and restarted my Mac to avoid the Mac SIP (system integrity protection).  The TAT tool then STILL worked using the old preference file.   Maybe I just needed a computer restart.

Thanks for the feedback, Robert - I'll start recommending that first, since it can be tedious to change preferences and tool settings back to how we like them after resetting.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just to update the thread, I'm running Windows 10 (10.0.18312) using Lightroom Classic CC (8.1). I should add that for some reason today when first opened Lightroom the preferences has been reset automatically.

I can confirm as Robert mentioned, re-setting the preferences does fix the targeted adjustment tool when using the Reference view.
