Lightroom 2015.8: Cannot access Auto Import Settings from File menu

After installing 2015.8, I can no longer access Auto Import Settings from the File menu.  Is this a new bug?

Same issue in 10.12.3. I can get the auto import settings... window to open in a new catalog once but if I try to reopen it to switch destinations I cannot access the window. I tried resetting the preferences and now I can't even enable auto import and the settings window will not appear. This is a MAJOR problem for me.  When is the fix coming!

I reverted back to the previous update (6.7,2015.7) and everything is working properly.

Edited: Adobe released Lightroom 6.9/CC2015.9 today.

This issue should be corrected in this release. 

We are continuing to look into this issue as it does not appear that the correction worked for everyone.

It worked for new catalogues in CC2015.8 as well but not ones created with earlier versions and I recall became broken on that update. Adobe need to release a patch instead of waiting until there are enough new cameras to warrant an actual update.

I think the advance is, that new catalogues will keep working now (at least for the time as I have tested this here).
But I fully agree with all others, that it needs a patch to heal corrupted existing catalogues.

Got excited there for a moment!!! Downloaded and installed the CC2015.9 updated and..... still the same, so I am stuck using a external import suite and still paying for this subscription of LR that is frankly unusable and pointless to us. I probably will NOT be renewing subscription as this hasn't worked for months now. How totally frustrating..

Have/had the problem, too.
Now with 2015.9:
it seems to be fixed after creating a new, empty catalogue :)
it is still NOT fixed for my existing catalogue :(

Thank you for the quick responses. I have been communicating with the programmers and they are asking if someone in this thread can provide a catalog copy that continues to exhibit the problem after the 6.9/CC2015.9 update. Can anyone provide a copy of their catalog for examination?

I have the same issue too. So if the next release doesn't fix it, you're welcome to have a copy my catalog to assist in debugging.

With Harald's test catalog we were able to reproduce and have reopened the issue. This thread will be updated when we have more information. Thank you Harald.

OK, I installed the 2015.9 and made a new catalog. I was able to set up an auto import one time and then back to square one. The auto import window will not open from the file menu. I'm stuck our here on a shoot and I have to monkey around with these work arounds again.

Same here. Lightroom 2015.9, Mac Sierra 10.12.3. Previously, the auto import didn't work at all. Now it works but I can't access the settings. Really frustrating.

Same for me. Updated to 2015.9. Seemed to work -- even on an old catalog. But last night created a new catalog for a shoot today; could set up Auto Import settings. However, this morning, could NOT access those settings!! I share the frustration of so many others. Makes one question how Adobe could ''break'' this functionality...and we pay monthlies!! So, it's back to using prior version--again!!

Also, has this now also been opened as a bug under the latest version so it doesn't fall by the wayside??

Hi, Yes you are quite correct there seems to be some licensing restriction in place on this.

To be honest I just uninstalled my 2015.9 install and replaced it with the beta. the prefs for the catalogue remain as were but the LR ones were replaced but this is not a big issue for me and I think it did offer the option to keep these when I removed 2015.9 from the CC application uninstall.

Sorry I can't think of a way round your issue at present but am surprised that you could not install as a trial period version on that clean machine.

As part of the beta agreement says we are not allowed to specifically comment  on our experience with betas I can say more.

To have to run the beta, you have to uninstall and then install the beta. It's just the way the installer works. Patch updaters don't get done until the public release. Your catalog and preferences and everything else should remain as normal.

At this stage in the release cycle, these betas are pretty stable (like RC's.), so you'd be pretty safe to try it on your main machine. If you want to go back to the shipping version, then you uninstall and reinstall shipping version again, but TBH, I wouldn't bother. I run the mid-cycle beta builds as my main working build all the time. It can mess up the CC app's understanding of whether there's a new update available, but uninstall/reinstall usually does the trick.

If you've maxed out your CC installs, just sign out (under help menu) on one of the other machines and sign in on the test one. When you've tested, just sign out and sign back in on the other again.

I was just editing my post - but it timed out - to add..

Have you tried signing out of one of the two main machines from the CC applications side menu then installing the beta on the clean machine by signing in? You might need to install the Creative Cloud Application first though, however it should offer the sign in page when you install beta. I know this method works but that's all I am prepared to admit :)

Further I can confirm what Victoria says..

finally I managed to temporary install and test on the clean machine (needed to signing but not to sign out anywhere), will now go to the regular machine and uninstall 6.9.
Will stop here, and continue in the adobeprerelease forum.

I am also having this problem. Windows 7 Pro SP1 (work computer) and Lightroom CC 2015.9 build 1106920.
