when exporting a large image the preview progress bar can take a long time, before you can change the pixel values etc...

if you could click a button to cancel the preview then adjust the settings it would make it better for the use of large files in export.

Are you talking about previewing in a web browser?
(I can't figure out what other preview would put up a progress bar)

But what are you doing to cause a progress bar? Normal operations in SFW are interruptable and don't show a progress bar.

What steps does someone else need to take in order to reproduce the problem you're seeing?

Again, please tell us what you are doing that is not interruptable already.
Almost everything in SaveForWeb is already interruptable (just do it, don't wait).

how do you interrupt it ?
i find if the image is a large image it will chug for 20 seconds sometimes and the esc key will not work .. i can not change values while the bar is in progress, a small icon near the end of the progress bar to cancel would not be all that difficult to put in there ..

Just do something -- change a number, hit a button, etc. There should be no need for a cancel button in most operations - which is why I keep asking you to tell us what you are going that is making SaveForWeb non-responsive.

Chris -- you must be using a different version or OS than us. On OSX with Photoshop 6 there are no cancelable options, it freezes the entire program while optimizing/encoding.
