We are trying to print a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 photo cropped to fit within a photo quilt. Has anyone done this and is it possible to do from this program? How?

Sure. You can crop and resize images and print them out at any size (that your printer supports)

I recommend downloading the free 30 day trial of the product to make sure you like it and that it will work for the purposes you need:

If you are asking whether you can print a image at 2 1/2" X 2 1/2", then the answer is yes. Your image will print at its actual dimensions by default.

The size of the image can be altered using a number of tools in PSE, but you can check its current size by going to the Image menu, the select Resize>Image Size. The "Document Size" section of this dialog shows you the print dimensions. You can type in new settings if you'd like to change the print size (be sure the uncheck the "Resample Image" option at the bottom first!).
