Lightroom: Can I view my shared LR catalog/dngs from a computer without launching LR?

I have my entire Lightroom catalog in a Dropbox directory and successfully use two different computers to edit photos. (Yes, only launching LR on one computer at a time and yes, have thumbnails stored locally.)

So what I am wondering is whether I can view my catalogs/photos from another computer using a lightweight slideshow program? I don't want to have to install LR and run it every time. And I don't want to have to a full export to do it.

I want to access my catalog from a computer (with projector) that just acts as a photo viewer to see my modified photos. Possible?

Well, I suppose one could write a lightweight app that reads the previews cache.

But, to answer your question, no. You can "access" the catalogue, but unless you figure out the schema, the access isn't going to help you much.

To be fair, I think the various publish-aware services like photoshop.com and Revel are supposed to fill the need for slideshows of renditions made from Lightroom.
