Yes, it's a cross-platform license.

Thanks Victoria. How will I know whether it is or not? I didn't know about the laptop until after so wouldn't have asked for this option?

It is by default Debbie. You can use it on two machines, and they can be either platform.

The linked instructions no longer seem accurate - https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/p...

When I sign in to the support portal I don't see the pages that are referenced (get support, orders & returns) and can't find the Product Exchange Online Order Form.

Can you provide a link directly to that form on the US support site?

Thanks,

Mark

I agree that those links don't exist on the Support Portable site, anymore.  I'd recommend just doing an Adobe Chat session and see what they tell you, there: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?step=ZNA_account-payment-orders_stillNeedHelp

It's possible that current products are cross platform and multi-language so no platform or language swap is needed, anymore.

My product is not cross platform. Wouldn't have asked the question I did if it was. Can't install an EXE program on a Mac. Hopefully someone can help direct me to the appropriate page to start the exchange process described above.

I have a Win version of Photoshop CS6 which I purchased directly from the Adobe website as a download in 2012. It is a NEW and not upgrade version.

Then yes, that license is for a single platform, and you will need a cross-grade to use it on another platform (or just move to CreativeCloud, which allows you to install on both platforms).

So how much is a cross-grade?

So, can anyone provide a link or instructions on how to initiate an Adobe platform exchange that is described in the initial post at the start of this thread (since that information is no longer correct)?

It should be in the link in the official answer - second section after the creative cloud instructions. Linked directly here:: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/p...

Got that just fine.

But the Support Portal noted at that link (item #2) doesn't seem to have the links noted in item #s 3, 4, 5, & 6. For example under "get support" there is no "orders and returns" to click on. Just a "contact us" which does't seem to provide any links that look what is described in the step by step procedure. So looks to me like the support portal has changed and now does't allow the process noted in the links page.

Not sure how to attached a screen shot image to this post or I'd show the support portal I get when I sign in.

Is this now not possible or is it that you have to get there another way? Or am I missing something altogether?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled transferring CS6 from one computer to another.

Hi, I downloaded Photoshop CS6 a couple years ago on my PC. My PC broke and I recently purchased a new computer. How can I transfer Photoshop from my original PC to my new computer? I still have the original disc and product code, but since it's already registered on the first computer, I can't install it now. Should I go uninstall off the first computer? Or something else?
Thanks!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Photoshop CS6 - how can I switch platforms?.

I just got a mac after having an HP for a while. I had the student photoshop cs6 on my old laptop and I am trying to download it onto my mac but it is asking for my redemption code rather than my serial number. I am not sure what my redemption code is.

Abby, the only way I was able to switch from a PC versions to Mac version was to directly contact Adobe.

It took several chat session since once they agreed to make the switch (which involves directing you to a Mac program download site and sending you a registration code) they said it would take a number of days to complete. In my case that time period passed and I had to follow up two separate times. But in the end I switched to the Mac version.

Good luck.

I was able to move my Win CS6 license over.

The links at the top of the post don't work. You have to contact Adobe directly. I had several chat session with adobe customer service to get it done. They initially said they would process the transfer in 24 or 48 hours, but I never got the email with the new activation code. After several more messages over a week or so, I finally got it (and the link to download the Mac version).

It's running fine on my Mac.

Note I had originally purchased my Win version from adobe directly from their website. I'm not sure if that made the process faster. Seems like all they needed was the Win version license number/activation code.

Good luck.

What product do you current have/own? I didn't see any products registered under the email address you've used here.
