This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Photoshop CC 2019: Transform/Resize is constrained by default - Want ability to go back to legacy behavior

Literally every post I've seen about this change talks about how much they hate it. Even when I get used to this change, Marquee tool and every other adobe program still has hold shift for proportional scaling. It disrupts everyone's workflow when they have to consciously switch back and forth when using different tools and programs. PLEASE just pick one set and stick with it for all programs and tools.

I totally agree. Probably one of the dumbest "fixes" ever. Thank you.

It looks like they are in the process of fixing this mistake

https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/constrained-resize-ps-cc-20?topic-reply-list%...

I Can't wait!  i was hoping this last update would have fixed it but it seems not.

Funny thing though, I feel like resizing images like this (constrained with out a function key) should have been the default for ALL programs. Like ALL programs Outlook, Corel, paint... what ever.

Why did they start out letting people mess up images. you know how many people i have to tell when they send an email or what ever, to HOLD SHIFT please you're squishing the logo/photo.

But since this has been the standard since computer had colour monitors, it should STAY THIS WAY.
if not... they ADOBE needs to talk to MS And who ever the hell out there makes software and agree that EVERY PROGRAM will be switching.

My gut tells me that this type of change might be connected to making Photoshop an iOS app. This may be nonsense but, hey, what Adobe did (without an explanation or clear reason) is nonsense as well.
