Can someone please teach me how to color pictures so they are mostly grey but with a pop of a certain color?

I am a complete potato when it comes to Photoshop, I only know very basic stuff, but i want to create aesthetic posts, and was wondering - how does one color the pictures so they are mostly grey hues but with a pop of red / other color?
Here's an example :

I've tried asking people who actually made those sets but no one can explain it to me....

Please, help a sister out?

The simplest way to do this is to use the HSL panel Saturation controls. Drag all of the sliders to -100 and then drag the Targeted Adjustment Tool (TAT) over the area with the color (Red) you want to reveal. Once over that area simply drag it up to increase the saturation of that color. All elements of the picture with that color will also be revealed. For future use create a Develop preset with all of the Saturation sliders at -100 and check just the 'Color Adjustments' setting.

You can also use the Adjustment Brush with -100 Saturation to remove color and +100 Saturation to reveal it in specific areas. This affects ALL colors and not just a specific color like red, but it's another useful tool for this purpose.
