My name is Wayne Haselden. I purchased a student copy of Photoshop 6 for a PC few years ago. I love it! I recently purchased a Apple Mac 5K. Is it possible for me to install the disk that I have now for the PC on the Apple or do I have to buy a new copy for the Apple?

Photoshop 6 is quite old, do you mean Elements 6?

Photoshop perpetual licenses are platform specific, and Photoshop 6 is much too old to qualify for a platform cross-grade.

Elements 6 should allow installation on both platforms, but is likely to have problems with a more recent version of MacOS.

Thanks so much Chris. Let me give you a little more info about my software and the system I'm running. I have Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard with Photoshop 6. I have a Apple that is running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.3. The processor is 3.5 GHz Intel core i5. The memory is 8GB and 1600 MHz DDR3. Does this help you answer my question?

OK, so you have Photoshop CS6, not Photoshop 6 (very different things).

Your license is for Windows, so you'd need to do a cross-grade to get a MacOS version. You can call Adobe Customer Support and see if that is still available for CS6, but it will be pricy to cross grade the entire suite.
If you had a subscription, you could just download the version for either platform.
