Why can't I use the Camera Raw editor for non RAW images. I know that sounds funny but my camera does not save in RAW format. I have seen the RAW editor in Lightroom and I think it is awesome. Is there any way I can use it to edit other file formats, such as JPEG, PSD and PNG? thanks, ClickMan

You can open JPEG, and TIFF (without layers) in Camera Raw going back a few versions and in Lightroom.

What file formats does Lightroom 3 support?

Lightroom 3 supports more than 290 native camera raw file formats, in addition to DNG, TIFF, and JPEG files — in other words, the formats primarily used in digital cameras. In addition, Lightroom 3 also supports the Photoshop PSD file format for enhanced integration with Photoshop CS5.
