Lightroom support for Fuji RAF files is very poor, especially when compared to the new version of Capture One! I don't want to switch to Capture One, but unless there is a substantial improvement I will not have any choice. Any feedback if this is coming?

I agree that, at this point, C1 is much better. I am trying to create a workflow that works with Lightroom. I've set up a "recipe" in Capture One that saves the RAF file as a TIFF and "opens" the TIFF in LR's Import process automatically. All I have to do is click Import and the C1-processed TIFF is now in my LR catalog. Does anyone have any other ideas about integration???

This is a good view on the problem in ACR/Lightroom and how competitors deal with it:

You can see in the comments, that nearly everybody likes ACR/Lightroom as a tool and they hope very much, that they do not have to CHANGE their workflow.

Adobe should understand that.

Better X-Trans support would certainly be welcome (and it would save me moving to Capture One!)

Please check out the Lightroom and Camera Raw release candidates:

http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjourn...

Lightroom 4.4 RC and Camera Raw 7.4 RC include a correction to the demosaic algorithms for Fujifilm cameras with the X-Trans sensor. This specifically impacts the following cameras:

Fujifilm X-Pro1
Fujifilm X-E1
Fujifilm X100S
Fujifilm X20

This is great! What happens to RAF files that are already in Lightroom before the update, are they read with the new conversion or do they remain with the old conversion?

Thanks.

New release candidate is much better but still noticeably less sharp than Capture One! This is disappointing.

I never heard of sharpness quantity issues in raw converters. Maybe C1 has another default setting. Did you check this?

I checked a watercolor image of December 2012. Now everything seems perfect to me. Thanks, Adobe!

You didn't say which product you were using, which version, or even which OS.
Are you sure you have the latest version?

Can you upload the original raw file to www.dropbox.com or www.skydrive.com and post the public download link, here?

With Lightroom 4.4 / ACR 7.4 the issue is solved to my understanding. So I also would kindly ask you to upload the original raw files and to inform us about the version of Lightroom / ACR you were using for your above posts. Any version lower than Lightroom 4.4 / ACR 7.4 would be completely meaningless in this aspect.

Whereas I had previously mentioned I had bought and returned the X-E1 last October because of this long-standing problem, with the release of Lightroom 4.4 I have re-purchased the camera and it is wonderfull!
Thank you Adobe and Fuji.
