Camera Raw plugin compatibility with SINAR Camera's ".sti" Raw files

Jeffrey, in this utter messy Adobe Forum structure,..there seems to be no option whatsoever to communicate with You, an actual adobe employee, directly. The fact that a Bug Report is classified as an "IDEA" in a user Forum, instead of a Bug Report which is, in a normal universe, being forwarded to an Adobe Tech support Person, fails to bare any kind of logic. Where would I file a Bug Report to You directly, and then also to your "actual" tech support people at Adobe, for a falsely advertised Camera Raw plugin compatibility with SINAR Camera's ".sti" Raw files, which can NOT be opened in Photoshops Raw Plugin, but actually will open only the embedded thumbnail, .....and any corrections "DUMP" the actually raw files inside this ".sti" Raw Format, destroying such a Raw file in the process, leaving a user with a thumbnail image in tif format at the end. Loosing the Raw file alltogether... a disastrous situation alltogether here....

Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop: Reformatted Mac now Photoshop doesn't work.

You should open a new thread with details, not accusations.

These are actual observations, they are really happening,.... Why you would state they are "accusations" makes you a typical forum member, and not an adobe tech support employee who i am seeking answers from.... Like Jeffrey Tranberry here, who I am solely and exclusively addressing this BUG Report to.... he "actually works for ADOBE,..... and You David, you do NOT work for Adobe...

David, i was clear : i only am trying to get in touch with tech support from Adobe,... i am not ranting,....but you are giving your comments and opinions, when YOU were not asked at all about any of your inputs..... seems you are a forum troll / crasher.... not sure what your goal here is.... but your opinion or thoughts are not wanted from the bat.... as explained clearly in my first comment , which was directed solely to Jeffrey,.... sorry,..David,..You are not invited here at all....

Akos, i think you need to calm down here. This is a public forum and all users are invited to post and reply.
And i'll ask you once again, where do you see that ACR supports .sti files?

Hi Eartho,... why would you think i am not calm?... i am "Mr Calm",...i only granted david the courtesy of a ..." very polite".... answer, after he started insulting my inquiry which was directed solely to Jeffrey......again, i am trying to connect with Jeffrey here,.... I have only found this way to get an Adobe Tech Person connection, for the Adobe support site is not offering direct support with a tech person anyhwere ,....also,...as already explained in my first Post to Jeffrey here,...  i will engage only with jeffrey in this topic here,.... let him respond back....

David, I am well aware how a Forum works,... nevertheless there seems to be no other option to contact adobe tech-support directly.... thats is why i was "explicit" and "precise" in my very first comment,... which I addressed "publicly" and "directly to jeffrey" only,... so that everyone-else, beside jeffrey, in this thread ignores my problem,...something you apparently dislike very much,... hence you are trolling my attempt to communicate with jeffrey at all costs,... and your "insulting" and "belittling" and "Patronizing" comments : .."ranting" eyerolling"... "sigh"... certainly do not help anyone, definitely not the BugReport to get into the right hands,... into Jeffrey's hands this is !

Adobe staff monitor and sometimes reply to posts in this forum as they see necessary. This is basically a use-to-user Help forum. Other than that here are your contact options:  https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/what-contact-options.html

Hi Akos, I don’t believe Sinar cameras are officially supported: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb...

I can check on expected support with the Camera Raw Team on Monday when I’m back in the office. Sorry, I was out the past couple of days dealing with my aged mother.

Todd, Earth and David, thanks for breaking this out into its own topic to track.

Adobe doesn't natively support STI files and I I don't believe it ever has.  A simple google search for "sinar sti" would've provided  you the answer you need.

You can use this legacy tool to convert .sti files to DNG's. http://www.brumbaer.de/Tools/Brumbaer_Tools.html
