Camera Raw 12.0: November 2019 Release - slow, unresponsive

Last evening I installed the newly announced versions of Photoshop CC 2020, Bridge 2020, and ACR 12. I also retained my older 2019 and 2018 versions of Ps and Br.

My first impression of ACR is that it is very sluggish. In the BASIC tab, I move a slider or click Auto and I can wait 20 to 30 seconds before there is any response and then another 5 to 10 seconds before the preview is updated. I am used to moving the sliders and watching the results in the preview window in near real time. I can't use ACR if I have to wait 30 seconds to see the result in the preview window. And toggling the before/after preview is near impossible. At first I thought ACR was hung, but no, just very unresponsive.

I did turn off my Graphics Adapter in preferences, and that made no difference. I did watch (Task Manager/Performance) what else was running on my PC, and nothing stood out as an issue. I rebooted - no improvement.

When Ps 2019 and Br 2019 came out I did go back to the 2018 versions often until updates improved the 2019 versions. I now feel ACR 11 was more usable than ACR 12.

So I can't use this, but ACR 12 is now plugged into all my versions of Ps and Br. How can I revert to ACR 11 so I can get back to work?

one more tip, you can in Acronis in the menu "active Protection" - "manage process" add exceptions e.g. photoshop.exe and lightroom.exe. Then ACR 12 runs very well and you still have the protection of "actice protection"

It could very well be that other programs are slowing down Camera Raw 12.0
I had Acronis True Image installed and even though I allowed Photoshop CC 2020 in their menu, it still slowed it down. So I uninstalled that.
Webroot SecureAnywhere slowed it down a lot! When I temporarily disabled it, everything was ok again.
So maybe one of your other programs is interfering with Adobe Photoshop CC 2020.

I agree that other programs might impact the performance of ACR, but in my case it was definitely Acronis True Image. Once I had correctly added Photoshop and Bridge to the exception list in Acronis performance of ACR was once more acceptable.
