I work as a photo editor for 2 small (but award-winning) weekly newspapers. I’ve used Photoshop for almost 20 years. I love it! and marvel to consider the improvements you people have come up with.  It’s amazing the difference in quality I see, looking at photos we ran, say 10 to 20 (even 30) years ago. Part of that difference is due to newer camera technology, but also due to ACR and the camera raw filter. I enjoy my work increasingly so, in large part because of the sheer breadth of improvement I can bring to poor quality photos with varying degrees of trouble, from even modern good-quality cameras. Thank you! Well done.
There’s a problem I’m experiencing with the latest camera raw filter. It might be something I’m doing wrong, or can be adjusted somehow in settings. When I open an RGB tif in Photoshop, and open the camera raw filter, the edit panel on the right is scrolled to its bottom. I can’t see the top third of the basic panel. So I scroll up. And click on the b/w button. And the panel scrolls to the bottom again. But I wanted to click on the auto button at the top. So I scroll up again. I work on 150 to 250 photos a week, not all b/w, but still...
Is there a setting I can change? Or a fix you can make? I want it to open with the basic panel scrolled to the top, and to stay at the top when I hit the b/w button.
