Are you referring to cameras with built-in lens profile support? Lens correction for all Micro 4/3 (MFT) lenses and cameras, including Panasonic, Olympus, and other cameras (Fuji X,  Leica Q, plus many point-and-shoot models from Canon) happens automatically without your interaction. See this document for more details: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support.html

It seems a pity that lens corrections are done automatically on RAW files with no ability to prevent this occurring. Is auto-correction done at the manufacture's request or Adobes?

you can prevent it... convert to DNG using Adobe software (ACR, LR, DNG conveter) and then modify the DNG tags (see DNG standard) controlling optics correction in that/those DNG and that's it... so next time ACR/LR opens the modified DNG it will not see tags (or see zero correction) to do the forced optics correction.
