Tried all night to get a simple answer from the Adobe website, and failed. Even their "Live Chat" is clearly a dumb computer attempting to pretend to be a human, and just spouting quotes from the website that it thinks answer the question but don't.
I want to find out if we can buy in OUR name - that is using our Credit Card - a student copy of Lightroom and CS5 when it is our DAUGHTER that is the student. It's for her, but we have to buy in our name not hers because obviously she doesn't have a credit card. I'd imagine it's a simple question that would be met by a lot of buyers, but getting an answer has proven impossible so far.

Hi Trent,

If you're buying this as a surprise gift for your daughter, I'd recommend purchasing through Amazon, then giving her the box. This way she can follow the instructions inside the box to validate after purchase using her school issued email address (preferred - if she uses her qualified school issued email address, that's the only thing she'd need to submit) or by submitting her student ID, etc - if she doesn't have a school issued email address.

If this is not a surprise gift and you have her email address and/or a scan of a valid proof of eligibility, you can purchase from using her information (and your credit card - the process allows for this) and do the validation at the time of purchase. only allows you to do the validation at the time of purchase - so that's why I'm suggesting Amazon if it's a gift.
