PHOTOSHOP - Bumpy edge on large-diameter brush strokes (spacing)

I really wish, after all these years, that when you make a sharp-edged brush stroke with a larger diameter it wouldnt look like a series of circles. Smaller diameter brush strokes look great, but the larger ones are a problem and must be fixed, because i find myself fixing those bumpy edges all the time :(

Currently using the latest version ( 2014 CC) but the problem pertains to all versions I have used since version 2.5 back in 1991.

OK, so you're using a hard edged brush, and have the spacing for that brush set at 20-30%. Smaller spacing might help, as would using a softer brush edge.

Thats great, setting spacing from default to 3% fixed the problem! Learn something every day :)
