Photoshop: Bump Mapped Shadows

Hey there, I've been using Photoshop for the last 11 years and there is one feature which I would like to request for a future update. It would be amazing if the drop shadow could be redesigned in such a way that it automatically analyzes and forms to the image underneath to automatically create a bumpmap and shadow that fits the forms of it, with the ability to define distance from and angle to the source object. The effect would hopefully adjust to sharpen the shadow when it predicts that part of the background object is closer and a faded, softer shadow in spots where it is farther away, automatically.

This is way beyond what any 2D software is capable of. You're essentially asking for PS to become an Artificial Intelligence.

maybe some way of applying a blend mode to the shadow only would do the trick.  I can think of something that might require a tutorial but would be do-able.
