Bugs Noticed with LR 4.1 beta update

I wanted to report a couple of the bugs I have noticed after using the LR 4.1 beta version of the update. [I bought LR4 and then installed the tester 4.1 upgrade.]

With the LR4 version I bought, I noticed significant lags between any adjustments made to sliders [exposure, white balance etc] and the 4.1 update seems to have greatly improved that. Awesome!

My main complaints with the 4.1 update are:

-The spot removal tool is extremely slow and buggy. It freezes up, and my iMac's 'color wheel of death' starts spinning, and after maybe 20-30 seconds, the spot removal will take, and the adjustment will be made. It does this every time I try to make a spot adjustment. It froze the whole LR program up so I had to force quit and reopen it up again.

Also, there are major delays in going from 1 image to the next, in the library and develop modules. The "Loading" screen will sometimes show and spin for 30 seconds. I have already rendered 1:1 previews for all of these images too, so that's not the culprit.

Also, when I zoom in, it takes 10-20 seconds for the image to become clear/in focus/not pixelated. Again, I have already rendered 1:1 previews, so that shouldn't be the issue.

I'm not sure on the specs of my computer but I'm using a 1 year old iMac, and I keep my 320 gb hard drive as empty as possible. My LR catalogue has less than 4,000 images on it. I was previously using LR2, before buying the LR4 upgrade.

Hope this helps in the development of the future updates!

Give the new Lightroom 4.1 RC2 a try and see how that works. Several performance issues were fixed in the RC2, available at labs.adobe.com.
