Lightroom 5: problems with merge to HDR and Photoshop CC

Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC:
In Lightroom 5, I selected 3 pictures, then select "Edit in..." and "Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop".
PS CC starts up and imports the pictures as layers. After all layers have been created, a dialog pops up and informs that the lens profiles database is updated.
Next, a dialog "Align selected layers based on content" pops up.
Next, a dialog "Generate output panorama" appears.

After that, the workspace remains empty. What do the dialogs "Generate output diorama" and "Update lens profile database" have to do with the HDR creation process?
Please see demonstration video here: http://youtu.be/LQlAXDUTlOw
This video has been created with a Captivate demo version on 08-11-2013. It will stay alive for 30 days from this date on.
Please advise...
Thanks a bunch,
Erhard

Panorama means that either Lightroom has a bug, or you ran the Panorama script instead of HDR.

The Lens Profile database gets updated because the script you ran requested lens correction for distortions, and your lens profile database was not up to date.

Thanks Chris. I definitely hit the HDR button. The only thing left for me to assume is that this button runs the "Panorama" script instead merging to HDR...

I have a similar problem, I select 5 bracketed images on lightroom 5 and then go to Edit in... Merge to HDR Pro in PS CC.
PS CC starts up and imports the pictures as layers. After all layers have been created, the HDR process goes just fine, when the process is complete, the final images does not show, PS CC closes the file.
what am I doing wrong here? this process works seemlessly in PS CS6 but since I upgraded to CC I have not been able to use this technic.

I am having the same problem. The same thing happens whether I select Merge to HDR or Merge to Pano. It gets about 15% done and then freezes. Any ideas out there?

Similar problem. I check the box to finish in ACR and make my adjustments. Image looks fine until saved and re-imported back into Lightroom, where it looks terrible.

With Lr5 and CC it worked but since a couple of days, when using CC 2014 it's dead. Ps opens when selected photos to merge in Lr but nothing more happends. I don't care for HDR, this is a panorama merge problem of mine, but I guess the functions are the same?

I agree with previous comment. Lightroom 5.6 integration to create panorama and open Photoshop CC doesn't seem to work after the last CC update - Photoshop opens but nothing happens. Nor does the same process from Bridge work (open Bridge/Select Photos/Right click/Merge to Panorama). I've tried deleting preferences and changing my Scratch Disk settings but nothing fixes this apparent bug.
Very frustrating. Also I don't want to contact Adobe Support as it takes so long to actually get to someone who knows what I'm talking about and then they usually say it's a problem they are working on with no solution!
Luckily I have Photoshop 6 to fall back on (the reason I have kept it).
Photoshop/Lightroom are undoubtedly industry leaders, but when products that are released with such noticeable bugs makes me wonder - where is the competition?
