Lightroom: Issue when importing photos having common filename in different extensions

When I tried to import some photos in Lightroom, some of those photos are .JPG and .NEF and a couples of photos had the same file name with different extensions for example (file0001.jpg) and (file0001.nef) and both photos are totally different. I figured out that lightroom didn't import the .JPG files, It didn't shows the .JPG files in the first place in the import screen!!

The only thing that I let lightroom see the JPG files files with common file name with the raw files is to rename one of the files either the .JPG or the .NEF file.

I think this is a bug it should be fixed, or shall I have to do anything from my side??
Please advise.

Go to Preferences and check the Import raw and jpeg pairs separately checkbox (name from memory, may be slightly different!)

Go to Preference > General.
Select "JPEG files next to RAW files as separate as separate Photos" option.
