Secondary Display Panel - if you call this up accidentally (Shift N) then close it - as you didn't want it. You are then unable to use brushes or any retouching etc. in the area that the panel covered. It's been a bug for a few versions of LR now - and still hasn't been fixed.

Paul,

I cannot duplicate what you are seeing. What OS & Pointing device are you using?

OS 10.10.4

Has done it since LR5 last versions - and all versions of LR6 including todays update 6.1.1

Press Shift + N this brings up the secondary display. If this covers a part of the main image. You can then close that box. Now try doing any action such as a brush K or a spot retouch Q - you can't. Not in that area. You can do it any other area - but not where the 2nd display box covered.

At least not for me - and as I say, it's been that way for a long time now. So I've always presumed it was a bug - but never got around to reporting it.

Paul
