Lightroom fails to save a DNG -panorama when the catalog folder has a large number of images. I did not try to find the exact number, but this is reproducible in large catalog folders such as with 10,000+ images. The panorama is successfully previewed in merge to panorama in lightroom, and when merging there is no error, it just says "Creating Panorama", completes, but no file appears in Lightroom or on disk in the folder with the source images. I subsequently placed the same source images in subfolders of about 2000 each and resynchronized the catalog, such that the source files were now in catalog subfolders, and found that the same sequences would now successfuly save as Lighroom panoramas and the DNG panorama stich now appear in Lightroom and on disk. I think this has something to do with the max number of files that lightroom can filesort. I have an extremely robust system with 64 GB of RAM GTX 1080 with 8GB VRAM, i7 SSD's and multiple TB of scratch so it doesn't seem to be a hardware limitation, recommend bug fix in future iteration.
