Lightroom Classic NOT creating subfolder when importing, but instead placing photos into highlighted folder only. I've always don this in the past with no issues. In the last test, I wanted
a new subfolder called "GFX tests", but all the photos were placed in NEW LIGHTROOM PHOTOGRAPHS. I've done this for years prior to Classic, with no issues (Been using Lightroom since the Beta of version 1).

I understand, you are well aware about Lr functionalities. Me too but not as you. I am using LR since beta V2. And, I must say that, as you, I never had the problem you just had.
On the other hand, I see that you don't mention the folder name where you wanted to place your new subfolder GFX tests. Did you really created it and underlined it before importing? Sorry for this basic question but..... who knows?

This is the only situation that I see to get that kind of mistake! Or a strange bug coming sometimes up.

He selected a destination folder and checked the option to create the subfolder, so that is what should have happened.

I did reset my Preferences for Lightroom, and that fixed the problem. But originally I wanted the subfolder GFX tests to be created inside the highlighted folder NEW LIGHTROOM PHOTOGRAPHS. The subfolder wasn't created, and all the photos were dumped into NEW LIGHTROOM PHOTOGRAPHS. Fortunately reseting  the Preferences fixed this problem.

My L.R.6 has recently developed this problem; Subfolders not being created when importing new photos - despite being set to do so. Where exactly in Preferences do I reset? It's not obvious and I don't want to make any unintended changes.
