I upgraded from lightroom 3 to 4. The only brush I am able to use is the mask. I have brushes in my local adjustments presets file. Can someone help me?

I can only use the mask brush. The mask brush is the only one available to me. When I click on "new", I don't get a list of brushes like I did when using lightroom 3.

Expand the brush panel by clicking the small black triangle beneath the word Edit. It must have been collapsed by accident.

Should get you working again!

Do you mean the word "Mask" on the left of the "new" and "edit" buttons? That's just a (slightly curiously named) header. The presets can be accessed one row down in the drop-down menu to the right of the word "Effect". But that layout is exactly the same as in Lightroom 3...

If the Lightroom default presets should not be there, they can be restored using the "Restore default settings" entry in the drop-down menu.

P.S. The word "Effect" is also a button, Alt+click or double-click resets all brush settings.

LRuser24-Yes, you have answered my question! Thanks so much. I am a new user to Lightroom and am trying to figure things out on my own. Thank you Rikk Flohr for replying too.
