Brush Tool lagging because of noise reduction

After fighting for hours to understand why the brush tool was so slow in Lightroom, I've just found why it wasn't working...

To let you know first about my configuration:
- Catalog and RAWs on internal SSD with enough empty space.
- Mac Pro (not the ugly can) 2 x 4 cores - 64GB RAM
- Write to XMP disabled
- 50GB Camera RAW cache
- Catalogs optimized every week
- LR 8.0 always up to date

The issue:
There is about 4 to 5 seconds lag between the time I draw with the brush, and the time it appears at the screen.

The solution:
In the preset I use, I have some values in the "Detail" tab, about noise reduction and sharpness... If I completely untick this box, i.e. the detail preset is not applied, the brush works perfectly. If I tick it, then it's super slow.

Did someone experienced that before, and got to know why it's working like this? It's a big pain... Of course there are workarounds, but I think this is a bug that should be fixed.

Thank you

I am not able to duplicate what you are seeing, Louis. If I make adjustments in the detail panel and then attempt a brush stroke, it is the same speed regardless of whether the detail panel is ticked on or off.

What other settings are you using in Develop? Transformations? Lens Corrections? Dehaze?
