Bridge sorts folders incorrectly.

Bridge does not sort folders properly. In the navigation pane, folders are listed with right-carats. Clicking a carot (>) brings a dropdown menu. The items are sorted alphabetically, not by date or number. My folders are named by date (ex: 12-25-13 Christmas). The folders are listed by number so 1-1-13 is listed above 12-25-13. Wrong. Please fix this.

I tried it in CS6 and I don't see this problem. They are sorted by name though even if you sorted files in the Content panel by date. Anyway should not be 1-1-13 listed above 12-25-13 since 1 is less than 12?

I posted that 5 years ago.  Since then I date folders by year, 2018, 2017, etc back to 1950 (for example.)  I also dated folders within the folders by year, like this:  2018-01-01....... 2018-08-03 and this solved the problem.  It was a pretty big task renaming all the images within each folder and all the folders themselves, but I found a slick program, Advanced Renamer, that did the job.  It is not easy to use, however. I appreciate your reply.

Renamer (for Mac, which is the one I looked at), appears to be useful, particularly if you've gotten yourself into more of a mess than Batch Rename in Bridge can handle. It offers more options in a very accessible way. At least, skimming over the tutorial it appears to be helpful—as you say, not immediately easy to use, but also not expensive.

I use Windows 10.  FastStone is by far the most powerful renaming tool for a small batch of photos with the same name but different image number. It would be inefficient for the task I faced.  I needed something powerful, like programmable macros.  Advanced Rename is just that.
