Bridge: Ability to preview fonts

You may have already had a request for this, but I think it would make choosing a font easier if Adobe Bridge were enabled to show how a font looks from browsing the file. I know I don't keep a lot of my special fonts installed directly on my drive unless I need them, but as a designer having so many fonts, I keep them on an external hard drive for storage. I would love it if Adobe Bridge could provide an easier way to identify the way each font looks as I browse through the thousands of my font files searching for the right one that will fit my project.

Agree! I would also like to preview fonts in Bridge, to classify, comment and tag them.

Why? On the one hand I would like to can better learn their attributes seeing and analyzing them. On the other hand, I would like to create helpful groups of fonts for different purposes. A sample would be well harmonizing pairs/groups of fonts. I would simply like to build a knowledge structure, a kind of font database I can consult in different design contexts.

I suggest to not only let us preview them, but also introduce a font comparison interface (diverse font attributes displayed side by side and the possibility to customize the attributes we need)

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Bridge Previews.

It would be great to preview .otf and .ttf files within Bridge.
