System Info: IMac latest version / Photoshop CS 5 all updates installed / Bridge CS 5 all updates installed: In the Bridge Web Gallery Output Mod Galleries designed and outputted on the IMad do not run when uploaded to my server. Host Go Daddy, Linux server. All web galleries built on a windows version work perfectly. After uploading a standard flash gallery via FileZilla that was made on the IMac the gallery on the server displays a blank page. All galleries designed on Windows Vista work fine. After trying several times to redo the gallery on the IMac I recreated the exact same gallery on the windows machine, put in the direct link information and the gallery worked. So there is major problem with the code generated in the Mac version of Bridge CS5 in the Web Gallery output model. Please correct. Rod Klein rhkdiver@ca.rr.com

Hi Rodger:
thanks for reporting your issue.
you mean the problem happened when you using FileZilla to upload your gallary when the gallary created in Bridge Mac version? and it is OK when using FileZilla to upload when the gallary created in Bridge Windows version?
thanks!
Tony

I transferred the files generated on the Mac to my PC and uploaded then with wsftp. This did not work and the galleries would not display.I. then redidvthe galleries on the windows version and reuploaded on the PC. The gallery files now displayed normally. I concluded that the problem is the code generated in the output module on the Mac version

in both tries, you are using the same ftp uploading tool, wsftp? how about trying with output module's native ftp functionality?

Ok, I tried generating the web gallery via the Bridge Output Module on my Mac AND I uploaded it via Bridge's native ftp. This worked. The gallery displayed as normal.

So the question is, why should this problem happen. What difference should it make how the gallery is uploaded? On the windows machine it doesn't matter whether it is a 3rd part ftp client or the native Bridge. Galleries generated on the Mac apparently only will work when uploaded using the internal Bridge ftp. This seems like a bug to me.

Bridge uses the OS X's FTP API, so there's nothing special about it. My guess is that a file name/extension is getting mangled when transferring the Mac files to the PC. If you zip up the files, and transfer the zip file to the PC, then unzip and FTP them, does it work? What if you upload the zip file and unzip them on the server?

Look Tony, I really appreciate your help and input. But I don't have the time to constantly make all of these tests, sorry.

Let me restate the problem:

1) Web Gallery Files generated from the output module in Bridge CS 5 do not display when uploaded via FileZilla software ( the only 3rd party ftp I use on the Mac)
2) Files copied over to my pc via my network do not work when I use a 3rd party ftp program to upload
3) Galleries generated on my windows machine in Bridge CS 5 work when I upload via my 3rd party ftp pgm WSFTP
4) Galleries generated on my Mac and uploaded via Bridge's ftp also work
5) I have found a workaround and making and uploading zip files to see if they work is just not worth the time.

Are you with Adobe? or just a gracious contributor to this forum. If you are with Adobe then I suggest there is a bug somewhere in the Output mod which should be further investigated. Thanks for your help.

One more thing: You said "My guess is that a file name/extension is getting mangled when transferring the Mac files to the PC"
This is NOT the main issue. The main issue is that galleries generated ON THE MAC and sent via a 3rd party ftp program do not display on my website. This is the problem....there are those out there who don't have both PC & Mac and may not have been able to solve the problem as I did. My use of the IMac is only recent and I never had problems with gallery files uploaded from my windows machine, so when I had the problem with the Mac files I went back to what worked originally. The problem appears to be with the way the Mac generates the files not files being transferred to the windows machine.
